We ran into a problem with one of our clients websites this week which is powered by Joomla.
A conflict somewhere in the set up was re-writing Search Engine Friendly urls for the DOCMan Plugin, resulting in each link being incorrect.
The actual solution was quite simple, but it took much research to resolve the problem.
What was happening was that pages we're being created with links to DocMan as follows:
/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=1&Itemid=
These URLs we're then being re-wrote by Joomla, resulting in URLS as follows:
/index.php/component/docman/doc_download/file_name
The solution in the end was rather simple. We set up a new hidden menu in Joomla, that only linked to DocMan.
This worked immediately, and resolved all URL errors.
