Exclusions
Unlike other web development companies, we take no up front payments or fees.
You become accountable for your first payment when your website goes live, and we will ask that you enter an agreement with us committing you to a 12 month minimum term, and your monthly payments begin.
For our monthly packages we ask that the monthly fee is paid on a recurring basis through Paypal subscription or Direct Debit.
If preferred, you can also arrange to pay for your website on a yearly basis.
Upon acceptance of your website, you will be entering a minimum 12 month agreement with Gecko Social.
- The Client agrees that they are entering a minimum term agreement of 12 months.
- After that minimum period, the Client can end this agreement by giving us 30 days’ notice.
- If the Client wants to end their agreement during the minimum period the Client will have to pay a fee of no more than the monthly charges multiplied by the number of months left in the Client’s minimum period.
- The Client can end this agreement without having to pay the monthly subscription charges up to the end of any minimum period the Client has left, if:
- Gecko Social Ltd increases the Client’s monthly subscription charges by more than the Retail Price Index (RPI) annual inflation rate; or
- Gecko Social Ltd increases any of its charges (apart from additional services) in such a way that would have increased the Client’s total bill for the immediately previous month by more than 10% (if the increase(s) had applied for the whole of that month).
- VAT is payable at the applicable rate, as set by HMRC, as of the date of production of the invoice.
- A link to Gecko Social Ltd will appear in either small type or via a small graphic at the bottom of the Client's website.
- We do not offer any services for websites that are sexually explicit in nature/in the business of selling or promoting illegal activities/incite violence or hate.
- Any service we provide is subject to acceptance.

We will update the components we install to your website and your content management system free of charge while you remain a client of ours free of charge, this keeps your website safe and secure, and helps prevents hacking and malware appearing on your website. We may make the odd exception to this, but we'll always let you know beforehand, and would only do so if we expected future updates will require major updates.
Should you require a change to your website (or anything digital related), we will provide you with a no obligation quote that outlines the work we will complete and the cost to you. Our minimum hourly charge is £25.
While we fully test our websites, sometimes a fault may occur that is due to our work. In this event we will fix the fault for you at no cost (this doesn't cover adventurous website owners who break something!).
Your website will be browser tested for the most popular web browsers at the time of building your website. We do not cover the cost to make changes to your website, that are due to a newly released web browser.
While we do try to include as many requests as possible with our Pay Monthly websites, the following is not included as standard in Pay Monthly packages:
- Advanced Website Animations
- The cost of any additional royalty-free imagery for use on commercial websites
- Purchase of additional fonts / special fonts for use with your site
- Copywriting of the content for the website
- Website Landing Pages (useful for PPC campaigns)
- On-site training on the CMS system
- E-commerce websites
- Bespoke requests or functionallity
We can do all these things for you, but some fonts and images for example can cost more than your website will!
Simply let us know any special requests when you contact us, and we'll include any additional costs in your proposal.
